Stud Services & Artificial Insemination
Our beautiful Toy Poodle is available for stud duties.
Hugo is 4 years old and has an amazing temperament, he is fun, loving and is very gentle with the ladies .. He has fathered many many beautiful litters...He stands at 9 inches tall and weighs 3.5 kg so is a perfect size toy poodle and will suit other breeds his size as well as larger (with Artificial Insemination)
He is extensively dna tested clear for:
-BVA Eye test July 2020 (UNAFFECTED)
-Progressive Retinal Atrophy ( prcd-PRA)
-Progressive Retinal Atrophy ( rcd4-PRA LOPRA)
- Degenerative Myelopathy (DM).
-Von Willebrand Disease I (VWD1
-Gangliosidosis GM2.
-Osteochondrodysplasia (OCD).
-Neonatal encephalopathy with seizures (NEWS).
-Malignant Hyperthermia (MH)
-Hyperuricosuria / Urate Stones (HUU)
Hugo carries Yellow, lemon, cream, Red, Apricot and Brown.
We give you a Mating Certificate and Health Test paper work on the first Mating/A.I
Our price is for two ties usually 48 hours apart paid for on the first mating.
Help and advice can be given all the way through from the start of your girls season until the puppies leave you.
Artificial insemination is available for
£25 extra for both visits. This is a much quicker and a less traumatic way to do the matings . We use good quality sterile AI packs.
We offer 2 matings for £250 and if your bitch doesn't take (which is highly unlikely as Hugo doesn’t miss) you can have another mating on her next season providing we have proof from your vet that she did not take (a scan) and you do a Progesterone Test
Cytology & Semen Analysis
We offer Vaginal cytology which a simple procedure that takes a swab to gather samples for examination under a microscope. It can be used to establish at what stage of a heat cycle a dog is in, in fact it allows us to pinpoint the exact time of ovulation.
It’s quick to perform, which reduces the stress on your dog and gives you results within 5-10 minutes.
We also offer Semen Analysis, a sperm test examined under the microscope to determine the quality. This is one of the most important steps to ensure your male is suitable for stud.
DNA Health Testing & Colour Panel Testing.
We offer a comprehensive DNA testing package which includes health screening and colour panel testing. Ideal for breeders and owners who want the reassurance of genetic health testing.
Our DNA testing is accepted by the Kennel Club.
This typically has a turnaround time of 15 working days after the swab arrives at the lab.
Microchipping
Bottens Doodles now offer Microchipping, be it your own dog or your litter of pups!
The microchipping of dogs is a simple procedure that takes less than a few seconds. Apart from being a legal requirement for any dog over the age of 8 weeks now in the UK, in the unfortunate event that your dog ever gets separated from you, a dog microchip will ensure that your pup can be identified and returned to you as soon as possible.
